SUPERFOOD SLICE

If you can pack a bunch of nutrients into a slice, this is how you do it.

This is my kids favourite slice that I make. I can’t keep up with how much of it they eat.

Dates remove toxins from the liver and are a great source of fibre. They are rich in protein are high in Vitamins like B1, B2, B3, B5 and C. Dates are also high in iron and assist with digestion.

Hemps seeds were once illegal in Australia, but since there is no THC in hemp seeds so no one is going to get “high”, we are now allowed to consume them. Thank goodness because they are amazing. Hemp seeds are high in protein, Omega 6, Omega 3 and Vitamin E. Great source of minerals like phosphorus, potassium, sodium, magnesium, sulphate, calcium, iron and zinc. They aid in digestion, blood pressure, Diabetes, PMS, Rheumatoid Arthritis, skin allergies and may assist heart disease.

Cocao balances hormones, assists heart disease, weight loss, can prevent premature aging, mood enhancer, and helps prevent heart disease.

Coconut has loads of health benefits too THE BENEFITS OF COCONUT OIL

So lets throw them all into a slice.

METHOD:

  • Line a square slice tray with baking paper. You may need to spread a little oil in the tray first so the paper sticks.
  • Blend the nuts in a food processor until finely chopped.
  • Add the dates, tahini, hemps seeds, cocao and coconut and blend until the dates are smooth and all the ingredients are combined.
  • Pour the mixture into the slice tray and spread it into the corners. Press down firmly all over the mixture until it is smooth on top.
  • Put in the fridge to set for about an hour. Once the slice is set, remove it from the tray by the baking paper. Cut into bars or whatever shape you like.
  • Keep in an airtight container in the fridge.
